PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter)

United Christian Church participates in the South Suburban PADS program, providing shelter on Wednesday nights for women and children.  We supply our guests with sleeping accomodations, a hot supper, breakfast, and a sack lunch.  These services are performed by volunteers on our sight between 6 pm on Wednesday and 7 am on Thursday.

South Suburban PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) has been providing emergency overnight shelter in the southern suburbs since 1990.  It is an ecumenical effort that serves homeless men, women and children with hospitality, compassion and dignity.  At shelters located in a number of churches and synagogues in eleven communities, PADS provides food, warmth and encouragement to guests who are in need of shelter during the cold weather months.

ONLY 4 HOURS A MONTH can make a huge difference in the lives of others.  To be a PADS' volunteer from United Christian Church, call Gloria Carey-Branch at (708) 798-0951.  Training will be provided.
