Education

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations...and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.
-- Matthew 28:19-20 (NRSV)

Jesus' life was about teaching; therefore, he commissioned his disciples to go and teach all nations what he taught them.  We, as followers of Christ, are respoonsible for learning and spreading God's Word.

Christian Education is:
  • Spiritual Guidance - to provide insight and support for making and living faith commitments
  • Relationships - developing relationships through Christian teachings in a faith community where the love of God is evident
  • Living - having God as the center and focus of everything we do, using the Bible as our guide
  • Equipping - adults and children are equipped for ministry by training (Sunday School and Bible study)
  • Serving - being accountable as stewards by using our time, testimonies, talents, and treasure to sustain the church
  • Practicing - using four vital parts of ministry (Acts 2:42): the apostles' teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, prayer
  • Nurturing - feeding, nourishing and supporting each other during different stages of spiritual growth
